According to a Kremlin spokesperson American news host Tucker Carlson interviewed Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Tuesday.
The former Fox News host becomes the first Western journalist to conduct a one-on-one interview since Russia's full-scale war began with Ukraine.
In a video posted on Carlson's X social media account, he said "Americans have a right to know all they can about a war they are implicated in."
While the interview itself has not been released yet, Carlson's visit to Moscow has been reported to the detail of his every move in Russian state media.
Carlson also said he paid for the trip himself and that his purpose was to create a balance with the Ukraine-dominated coverage by Western media.
